Who manages a company page, and how that is decided

For review by lawyer. A company page on EaglesEntry is run by its page admins: people at the company, never EaglesEntry staff. Here is how someone becomes one.

The first page admin

  • The first person who signs up with a work email whose domain matches the company’s website becomes the page’s first admin at once. There is no waiting list and no review by EaglesEntry.
  • They are provisional for 14 days. The first person to sign up is not always the head of hiring, so during those 14 days a colleague who signs up with the same company email and asks to be page admin (“I lead hiring here”) becomes one too if the provisional admin doesn’t answer within 7 days. Approving a second page admin by hand ends the provisional period.
  • A page admin can hand the role to a colleague at any time (Members › “Make page admin, step down”).
  • The one case EaglesEntry looks at by hand: a company registered under a name that another company page already uses with a different website. That first request waits for an EaglesEntry check, so an impostor can’t take a known name. Everything else is automatic.

Everyone after that: the join policy

  • Approval (default): page admins decide. A request they don’t answer in 7 days is approved as a recruiter if a seat is free; they are reminded on day 5 and told afterwards.
  • Auto: anyone with a company email joins as a recruiter at once, if a seat is free. Page-admin requests still wait for a person (or 7 days).
  • Strict: nothing happens until a page admin decides, however long it takes.

Whatever the policy, a decision made by the rule is recorded as made by the policy, not by a person, in the page’s Activity log. The log and the list of members with their roles are part of the records export.

Why it works this way

EaglesEntry can’t know who should run a company’s hiring, and shouldn’t decide it. The work-email domain is the strongest signal available (it is also how LinkedIn verifies employees), the company’s own admins know their organisation, and the provisional period and join policy make sure that the first person to find the page can’t lock colleagues out and that an absent admin can’t block the company.
